Stay as close as possible to the tactile, be your character having a skin allergy. (This one’s pretty close to home since I have hives. 🙂 )
Whelps rose up on my arms first. The itchy sensation was overwhelming. Soon they spread to my face and neck. Traveling down nerve pathways like ants crawling on my skin. Bumps ranging from mosquito bite size to the size of a hot searing spider bite. My nails ripped at the tingling that would not stop. The more I scratched the more they itched. Soon my torso and legs had whelps that created a sinister dot to dot. Rubbing cold cream on them abated the clawing motion temporarily. Then, within moments, the smoldering fire began again causing the scraping for relief to resume. Hives.
