This weekend is a BIG one regarding our book. We were interviewed yesterday by Teepa Snow who is a dementia care specialist. Teepa’s care strategies and techniques look at what is known about brain function and changes that happen with various conditions and integrate that information with therapeutic approaches. Her company is called Positive Approach to Care and she is the queen of helping caregivers of those with brain changes. We were so excited to get to chat with her about our book. Our interview will be on Facebook live Monday October 7th at 8:00 am. We will post the link and you can find it on Teepa’s Facebook Page.
Today, we are at the Decatur Book Festival all day. Here’s their mission: “The Decatur Book Festival encourages a love of the written and spoken word by engaging a diverse community of readers, writers, and creative spirits. In pursuing this mission, the festival seeks to: Showcase an array of national and international voices at the festival and throughout the year. Connect readers with writers. Illustrate the many ways reading encourages personal and cultural empathy and knowledge. Encourage the love of reading and creative expression in children and adults.” In short, it is my kind of place! We were excited to be accepted as vendors on the square. Come visit us!! Booth 202.
Sunday October 6th, we are speaking at Lanier Village Estates chapel service at 4:00 pm. We will be sharing about our journey as caregivers and how that journey influenced our faith. It is open to the public if anyone is in the Gainesville area and would like to attend. We are looking forward to speaking to the community that has been so supportive of us as we walked with Dad and Mom.
If you are a caregiver or know one, you can find our book on Amazon. We are hoping to increase retail outlets where you can find our book in person on the shelves. Until then, you can always purchase one from either of us, or online. Thanks to all of you who are so supportive of this venture! Spread the word! We are happy to come speak to groups in the community. Just let us know and we will put you on the calendar.
